Hatfield House

We travelled to England with a couple that we have enjoyed traveling with many times before. Susan’s cousin was the estate’s plumber to the Hatfield House, located to the east of Hatfield, Hertfordshire. We met up with him at a nearby town pub, listened to some stories of his past during his employment at the Hatfield House. It was built in the early 1600’s as I recall. Then we all walked the mile or so there from the pub. It was raining when we got there and the light wasn’t inspiring. It was the few shots I took in passing of the oldest building on the grounds, the Old Palace of Hatfield that I most liked. The Old Palace was the childhood home of Queen Elizabeth the first. I later decided to make them look as if taken at night.
